We are excited to invite you, our friends, into Bracken’s Kitchen virtually for our signature holiday event, “DECK THE HALLS,” as we continue to address the needs for those experiencing food insecurity here in Southern California.

 

Please join us on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 6:00 PM as we welcome special guests, community partners and watch as our very own chefs battle through a cooking challenge. In addition our team will be decorating the Christmas tree that represents  the outpouring of support throughout the evening.  You will want to be sure to stay through the end when we will be drawing the  opportunity winners.

 

THE FACTS 

2020 has shown us that more people are struggling to feed their families while experiencing job loss due to a global pandemic.  Normal statistics show us that 59 percent of Americans are one paycheck away from poverty, throw a pandemic into the mix and the need to feed people has increased dramatically.

 

THE IMPACT

In 2019 Bracken’s Kitchen served just over 450,000 meals with our projection for 2020 set at 600,000.  As of November 1, 2020 Bracken’s Kitchen has served over 1.3 million meals, that is over 200% from our original goal!

 

THE CHALLENGE

In order to keep our kitchen operating during the pandemic we adhered to strict Covid guidelines which meant we needed to hire a culinary team rather than rely  on our many volunteers to prep and cook meals. Start putting the pieces together and you know the snowball of expenses that come along with such a massive increase in production. 

 

THE NEED

With increased production comes increased expenses, plain and simple, we need your help.  The bar has been set, 2020 caused us to pivot, there is only one way to go from here and we can only do that with your generous support.
